Climb every mountain

3 things RnJ doesn’t typically encounter in Chicago: cacti, mountain ranges, and Christmas carols.

3 things RnJ did over their winter tour to Phoenix, Arizona: saw some cacti, climbed a mountain, and sang a Christmas carol

We had a wonderful, lovely tour with our newbies after finals week ended, and we shot this video on the top of Piestewa Peak, the highest point in the Phoenix mountain range, to commemorate the trip. We all went our separate ways a week ago to recharge and spend time with family and friends before we hit the ground running winter quarter preparing for the ICCA quarterfinals 3rd week! See you soon Chicago, and thanks Phoenix for welcoming us to the land of sand and Saguaros.

ICCA bound!

We are so thrilled to announce that we will be competing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella for the first time ever this winter quarter! We’ve all worked incredibly hard to get to this point, and we could not be more excited.

A huge congratulations to our fellow UChicago a cappella groups Men in DragThe Ransom Notes, and Run For Cover as well!

The full quarterfinal lineup can be found at https://varsityvocals.com/2016-icca-lineup/.

Be sure to like our Facebook page and/or check back here on our website for future updates re: our performance schedule!

New members!

We are so excited to welcome our newest members into the group! They are:

Ali Futter (2019)
Liam Rossman (2019)
Will Shore (2018)

They’re absolutely wonderful and we are so looking forward to all the memories we’ll be making together this year. Mazel tov!!

EP Recording!

Over the past weekend, we’ve been in the studio with The Vocal Company recording 4 songs for our upcoming EP, to be released next fall. After a total of 45 hours in the basement of the Logan Center and 60 separate vocal tracks recorded, we can’t wait to share these songs with you!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG!

Fall quarter was a blast, and our tour of New Hampshire and Boston was spectacular! Winter quarter was amazing, and it included a trip to Kol HaOlam, the National Collegiate Jewish a cappella Competition (http://www.kolhaolam.org/). While we didn’t place in the top three teams, we still had an amazing time making friends with other Jewish a cappella groups.

Spring quarter means we have graduating seniors, who will leave some mighty big shoes to fill. And with this comes elections. We’ll be announcing new officers shortly.
